Major Duties:  Preserve the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering or disposing of repossessed collateral. Training and monitoring the work of other department employees. Coach employees monthly, conduct performance evaluations, administer salary increases, and maintain employee documentation of performance progress. Contact difficult and complex delinquent accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current. Counsel members using knowledge of Credit Union guidelines, NCUA policies, as well as the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

Education and Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience. A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Must have excellent communications skills. Ten key calculator, computer, and keyboarding skills. An ability to lift or pull up to 25 pounds (files, file cabinets, file boxes, etc.) Some travel required.
